It all begins with an idea. From the beginning, the visionary CEO and founder of Galtar Heaven Enterprizes, Journey Blue Heaven, has embarked on her own journey to breathe life into groundbreaking concepts. This endeavor is fueled by the goal of empowering women musicians across the spectrum.
Hailing from Woodstock, New York, JBH is renowned for her original songs showcased across the Hudson Valley music scene, where she has performed at numerous popular venues. The concept of Galtar came into existence after numerous performances spent hunched over her guitar, leading her to realize that her passion for music was taking a toll on her posture.
Women often experience discomfort such as pinching, slouching, or hunching while playing. Unless one is a well-built man, it may be challenging to comprehend these nuances. The anatomically correct guitar addresses these concerns, offering a solution to alleviate discomfort.
The Galtar was born, as what JBH describes as the world’s first "anatomically correct female guitar," featuring a cutaway designed to accommodate the body's curves, providing comfort during extended performances.
JBH presented the design to several luthiers in pursuit of finding a suitable collaborator for the Galtar project, yet encountered hesitance from many. The main concern raised was the potential compromise of acoustic quality due to the design alterations.
JBH then brought the concept and prototype drawings of her Galtar to Dave Schneider, a master luthier, since the 70’s in the town of Woodstock, known for servicing a roster of well-known artists and crafting unique instruments. Schneider was willing to take on the challenge and created the first Galtar first prototype.
Following the development of the prototype, JBH has successfully obtained a patent for the design. We are now considering licensing opportunities for both the Galtar guitar and our fashion-meets-function guitar cases to guitar companies. Our ultimate goal is to bring this unique design to market, empowering female musicians to take the stage with comfort and confidence.
